Individuals interested in enrolling in one of The Arc of Central Alabama’s four service programs (Community Day, Employment, Early Intervention, Residential), must be diagnosed with an intellectual or developmental disability by a medical professional. For more on these diagnoses, see The Arc of the United States’s resources.

For individuals who are on the Medicaid waiver, enrollment in any Arc program begins with a referral. The referral process is managed through the Alabama Department of Mental Health (ADMH) and the Jefferson County Intellectual and Developmental Disability Authority (JCIDDA). Please call ADMH at 205-916-0400 or JCIDDA at 205-945-9310 to begin the process.

Individuals who are not Medicaid-eligible may also receive services through private pay, and these costs are calculated based on the needs of each individual and their unique situation. Please call The Arc of Central Alabama at 205-323-6230 or e-mail info@arcofcentralalabama.org.
